The relevance of the Institute’s School of Education will be easily appreciated when considered alongside the great need of more teachers of Nigerian Languages in all parts of the country. The activities of the School have, therefore, been central to the attainment of the goals for establishing the Institute. These goals include:
To promote the teaching and learning of Nigerian Languages to promote research. into the problems of teaching and learning of Nigerian Languages.
The production of professionally skilled Nigerian Language career teachers.
The School of Education supervised by Prof. Solomon Oyetade, runs the following programmes under the Department of Teacher Education:
Sub-Degree Diploma in Education/Nigerian Languages
Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
Postgraduate Diploma Conversion
One salutary development in the School is the approval it got from the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) to run NCE Programme in the School. Therefore, courses like Early Child Care Development and Education (ECCDE) and Primary Education Studies are available in the School. It should be noted that all courses offered in the School are combined with Nigerian Languages in order to fulfill the core mandate of the Institute.
The products of the School are brought up in the finest tradition of academic excellence and professional competence. Therefore, as graduates of NINLAN and quintessential Nigerian Language teachers, their training has equipped them with the necessary backgrounds to meet the following critical imperatives:

As soon as the Institute secures approval from the NUC for running its Degree Programmes, the School will launch the needed Degree Programmes in Education to be combined with specific Nigerian Languages like Hausa, Igbo, Yoruba, Ibibio, Fulfulde, Edo, Urhobo, Nupe, Tiv, etc.
