Graduate Conversion Programme

Graduate Conversion Programme

The Institute, at the prompting of the National Council on Education (NCE), in 2005, developed the Graduate Conversion Programme to turn proficient speakers of various Nigerian languages with degrees in various subjects other than Linguistics and Nigerian Languages to become competent teachers of their mother-tongues within one calendar year.

This programme, which stalled while the University of Nigeria’s control of the Institute lasted (2007 – 2014) is now about to be revived due to popular demand and very high potentials for jump starting the teaching and learning of many non-major languages.
